July 12, 2010 Minutes
The meeting was called to order at 6:00pm by Chairman Wayne Staidl. In attendance were: Chairman Wayne Staidl, Supervisor Kim Kittredge, Supervisor Wayne Hoffman, Clerk/Treasurer Lisa Witak, Buzz Davis, Eugene Bancroft, and Karl Stibbe.
Motion by Kittredge, second by Hoffman to approve the agenda. Carried.
Motion by Hoffman, second by Kittredge to approve minutes from 6/8/10 & 6/29/10. Carried.
Motion by Kittredge, second by Hoffman to approve the treasurer’s report. Carried.
Public Comment:
Karl Stibbe stated he felt the Old 41 Road that was put up by Stibbe Lane when the state still owned the old highway was a waste of money since we now put up the signs for Vernon Hills Drive.
Karl Stibbe was asking about the quarry at Cramer’s and if they have done what they were supposed to. Kim Kittredge explained that the quarry is grandfathered in but the batch plant needed to be done after the highway was completed-which it is.
Buzz Davis asked about the bus turnaround on Schroeder Lane. Wayne Hoffman will contact the bus company.
Correspondence: A payment for Managed Forest Lands was received, General Transportation Aids, a road safety improvement letter, a logging permit, information on selling cigarettes from vending machines, and a request from the city of Peshtigo fire department for donations.
Officer Reports:
Clerk/Treasurer: Lisa noted that soon the town will need to take over its own SVRS (voter registration system) rather than relying on someone else. We will need to purchase some equipment and it is necessary to have high speed internet at the town hall.
Supervisor I: Kim stated that Erwin Hollmann called about problems with garbage at the boat landing. The board will have the road crew checked this landing at least once each week. The City of Peshtigo would like to be allowed to put a sign on the Huss property that says welcome to Peshtigo and advertising the fire museum.
Supervisor II: A lawnmower was purchased. Diggers Hotline has checked the areas where culverts are being installed. Homestead Road has a big bump that needs to be fixed. Wayne also reported on the joint fire department meeting.
Chairman: None
Garbage/Recycling Coordinator: None
Zoning Administrator: There were 3 building permits, 1 new home permit, and there are some houses in violation of the ordinance on Behnke School Road that Kim is working on a solution to.
Road Crew: Buzz Davis reported that some trimming needs to be done near the bridges. Some road shoulders need gravel. The ditches on Track Lane need to be cleaned before construction.
Motion by Staidl, second by Hoffman to accept the contract price from Countrystyle Propane for the 2010-2011 heating season. Carried.
Motion by Kittredge, second by Hoffman to approve operator’s licenses for Susan Schueler and Brittney Sandberg. Carried.
The next meeting is August 9 at 6pm.
Motion by Kittredge, second by Hoffman to approve the vouchers and pay the 4H club for park cleaning. Carried.
Motion by Hoffman, second by Kittredge to adjourn at 7:55pm. Carried.
