Town of Grover
February 9, 2009 Minutes
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Wayne Staidl at 6:05pm at the Grover Town Hall. In attendance were board members Wayne Staidl, Jack Clark, and Kim Kittredge. Others in attendance were: Clerk/Treasurer Lisa Witak, Estelle Boehm, Tom Kuchta, Eugene Frank, Lud Richter, Wayne Hoffman, Gordon Klimek, Buzz Davis, Vern Cramer, Naomi Dumke, Dan VanDeWalle, Eric VanDeWalle, and Shirley Prudhomme-Peshtigo Times.
Motion by Clark, second by Kittredge to approve the agenda. Carried.
Motion by Kittredge, second by Clark to approve the minutes from 1/19 and 2/2/09. Carried.
Motion by Clark, second by Staidl to approve the treasurer’s report. Carried.
Public Comment:
Eugene Frank asked about paying garbage fees for his business. He then asked about Michels pit and thought it was supposed to be done by 12/08.
Vern Cramer said that Frank’s are pushing snow from Eagle Express across the road into his private driveway.
Communications:
NextMedia has removed 2 billboards from the town, Kerber Rose gave us the audit contract, Wayne received a logging permit and Norther Lake Service needs to get in to inspect the well at the dump.
Officer Reports:
Clerk/Treasurer: There is a primary election 2/17/09 with the public test on 2/7/09. For the April election both machines will have Coleman & Peshtigo school district races but 1 machine will only have Marinette and 1 will have Lena to save on costs of programming.
Supervisor I: no report
Supervisor II: Jack said the whole town will miss Bob England-former Supervisor I-and that he did a lot of volunteer work.
Chairperson: no report
Garbage/Recycling Coordinator: There has been a lot of garbage missed lately and some of it is due to recycling in the garbage or bags being too heavy.
Zoning Administrator: There were no permits issued this month. Kim is working on the fire sign issue that was brought up. She believes numbers were put back on the wrong road during highway construction by the state.
Gordon Klimek asked about getting fire numbers put by the homes on River Run. They have them at the end of the road, but not by each home. The homeowners feel they don’t need them by each home. The town will look into this for emergency purposes.
Motion to table forming a formal complaint policy for the town when it gets out of hand to the next meeting by Staidl, second by Clark. Carried.
Motion by Kittredge, second by Clark to pay the garbage charge for parcel 014-00320.000 which has no residence or business. Carried.
Motion by Clark, second by Kittredge for Staidl to attend highway safety meeting on 2/23/09 and the road maintenance meeting 3/20/09. Carried.
Motion by Clark, second by Staidl to approve vouchers 10453-10491 and pay the garbage fee and above noted meeting fees. Carried.
Motion to adjourn at 6:50pm by Kittredge, second by Clark. Carried.
