Town of Grover
December 8, 2008 Minutes
The meeting was called to order at 6:05pm at the Grover Town Hall. In attendance were: Chairperson Wayne Staidl, Supervisor Bob England, Supervisor Jack Clark, Clerk/Treasurer Lisa Witak, Zoning Administrator Kim Kittredge, Jeff Hartwig, Buzz Davis, Estelle Boehm, Vern Cramer, Naomi Dumke, and Shirley Prudhomme-Peshtigo Times.
Motion by England, second by Clark to approve the agenda. Carried.
Motion by Clark, second by England to approve 11/10/08 minutes. Carried.
Motion by England, second by Clark to approve the treasurer’s report. Carried.
Public Comment:
Jeff Hartwig asked about the burnt down Tiede house being an eyesore and what can be done about it. Kim will check into it.
Vern Cramer asked if snow can be plowed from a driveway across a road and told the board there is lots of garbage on Trout Creek Rd.
Communications:
A Christmas card was received from Attorney Coggins, a Bay Lakes newsletter, and a letter from the county treasurer that envelopes need to be sent with payments received by the town.
Officer Reports:
Clerk/Treasurer: The town website is up and running at www.townofgroverwi.com.
Supervisor I: Someone took the stop sign off the corner of Prestine and Town Hall roads, so Bob replaced. He cut down a tree on Track Lane. Some road name signs were taken off of highway roads during construction and the town isn’t sure who puts them back up. The signs and posts were left at the town hall.
Supervisor II: Road patching is finished. The fuel tank will need to be moved and a locking cupboard for oil, tools, etc will need to be put in the grader room.
Chairperson: Wayne stopped by the WTA meeting at the Kalahari in Wisconsin Dells and picked up a packet to look at.
Garbage/Recycling Coordinator: Stickers are being counted and the letters are being ordered.
Zoning Administrator: One building permit and one fire sign were issued.
Motion by Staidl, second by England to move $400 from the assessor column to a new website column on the 2009 budget. Carried. Motion by Staidl, second by Clark to approve the budget as presented at the 2008 budget hearing with the change above implemented. Carried.
Motion by Staidl, second by England to implement a snowplowing policy as follows: if there are 2 inches of snow or more or if the snow is blowing and drifting roads plows will be called out, if the roads are icy sanding will be done. Carried.
Bob and Jack will personally pay Jerry Damitz for the work he did on the cemetery sign.
Motion by Clark, second by England to approve the set price contract for Fahrner Asphalt and for them to rate roads, this doesn’t mean we will do any roads just sets the price. Carried.
Motion by Staidl, second by England to make a map of the cemetery and decide if we’ll sell plots in spring. Carried.
Next meeting 1/19/09 at 6:00pm.
Motion by England, second by Clark to approve vouchers 10387-10412 and add the 2 WPS bills, Decker Supply, and the $20.69 bill to Marinette County Highway. Carried.
Motion to adjourn at 7:10pm by England, second by Clark. Carried.
